About Liz

Liz Holzemer is a freelance writer, author, and speaker. She is also the founder of the nonprofit, Meningioma Mommas, www.meningiomamommas.org, which provides support to patients, family members and caregivers, and funds meningioma-specific research. 

She has been profiled on the TODAY Show, Discovery Health Channel, ABC, CBS, NBC affiliates, and featured in 5280, USA TODAY, Woman's World, and other print media. She has received the Woman's Day Annual 'Women Who Inspire Us" and Tim Gullikson awards and continues to share her "second chance" story while increasing meningioma awareness.

Liz is the author of the award-winning book, Curveball: When Life Throws You A Brain Tumor and a contributing author to Meningiomas: A Comprehensive Text (Elsevier Press, 2010). She donates a percentage of sales to meningioma research.

Liz enjoys supporting independent bookstores, coffee shops, and female-focused causes.

She is currently seeking a publisher for her in-the-works next book, Screwball. Daily walks, lattes, and humor are a daily must for her.
